Real Madrid vs. Paris Saint-Germain Preview, Team News, and UWCL Group Stage
Matchday For both teams in the UEFA Women's Champions League, but especially for Las Blancas, Matchday 5 is a make-or-break game. Real Madrid trails Paris Saint-Germain by two points, and a victory would give them back control of their own destiny in the competition. Losing the game would result in immediate elimination and an early matchday.
In the event of a draw, the white team would be depending on PSG's upcoming encounter against Chelsea. A draw in Paris and a win against FK Vllaznia Shkodr would still leave Real Madrid relying on Chelsea's ability to defeat PSG once more because they are predicted to win against the Albanian team on the final matchday. Real Madrid would advance if Chelsea defeated PSG, whereas any other outcome

Real Madrid travels to Paris Saint-Germain at Parc des Princes, where the two teams also competed in the group stage the previous year. The clubs split points on Alfredo Di Stéfano back in October of this season's campaign. Caroline Weir was chosen player of the match after the game ended scoreless.
Many people thought Toril's strategy in that game was very conservative. He set up the midfield with Toletti, Freja Siri, and Zornoza in the 4-3-3 formation, with Weir serving as the left wing. Esther and Athenea take the initiative in the attack, while Kenti and Olga join the Kathellen-Roco CB team.
The manager didn't play it too safe only this once during the UWCL campaign this year. Despite having balanced possession (49% vs. 51% in favour of PSG), Las Blancas didn't manage to create many chances because of their cautious approach. In the second half, the Spanish team also passed up a few excellent opportunities. The goalkeepers for both teams each made four saves, therefore the outcome
The three replacements made by Alberto Toril (76' Svava and Maite for Toletti and Athenea; 90+3' Teresa for Olga) did not assist Madrid in playing more offensively. However, the manager is anticipated to use the 3-5-2 card in the closing seconds if the next game is in danger of being a draw. Though perhaps enough time would pass for the offensive formation to even begin to function.
